Ingredients
- 1.25 cups sifted flour
- 1.0 cup sugar
- 0.5 tsp baking powder
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 6.0 egg whites
- 1.0 tsp cream of tartar
- 0.5 cup sugar
- 6.0 egg yolks
- 0.25 cup water
- 1.0 tsp vanilla
Directions
- 1. Sift flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- 2. Beat egg whites until frothy, add cream of tartar.
- 3. Gradually beat in 1/2 cup sugar until stiff peaks form.
- 4. Combine egg yolks, water, vanilla, and dry ingredients, beat 4 minutes.
- 5. Fold yolk mixture into egg whites.
- 6. Pour into an ungreased 10” tube pan.
- 7. Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes.
- 8. Invert to cool.
