Ingredients

  • 4.0 tbsp butter (topping)
  • 1.0 cup brown sugar (topping)
  • 2.0 tsp cinnamon (topping)
  • 4.0 tbsp flour (topping)
  • 0.666 cup chopped nuts (topping)
  • 3.0 cups flour
  • 1.0 tsp salt
  • 1.5 cups sugar
  • 4.0 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 cup soft shortening
  • 2.0 eggs
  • 1.0 cup milk
  • 1.0 tsp vanilla

Directions

  • 1. Mix butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, flour, and nuts for topping, set aside.
  • 2. Combine flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder.
  • 3. Add shortening, eggs, milk, and vanilla, beat well.
  • 4. Spread half the batter in a greased 9x13” pan.
  • 5. Sprinkle with half the topping.
  • 6. Repeat with remaining batter and topping.
  • 7. Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes.
