Whole Grain Bread

Ingredients

  • 3.25 cups bread flour
  • 0.333 cup oatmeal
  • 0.333 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1.5 tsp salt
  • 0.75 cup milk
  • 0.75 cup water
  • 0.25 cup cooking oil
  • 0.25 cup honey
  • 1.5 tsp active dry yeast

Directions

  • 1. Dissolve yeast in water.
  • 2. Scald milk, add honey, oil, and salt.
  • 3. Add yeast mixture, oatmeal, whole wheat flour, and 1 cup bread flour, stir.
  • 4. Add remaining flour, knead 8 minutes.
  • 5. Let rise until doubled in a greased bowl.
  • 6. Punch down, rest 10 minutes.
  • 7. Form into loaves.
  • 8. Let rise until doubled.
  • 9. Bake at 400°F for 35-40 minutes.
