Ingredients
- 1.0 cup butter
- 1.0 cup hot mashed potatoes
- 1.0 qt milk, scalded
- 1.0 pkg yeast
- 0.5 cup warm water
- 2.0 cups sugar
- 1.0 tsp salt
- 1.0 tsp baking powder
- 1.0 tsp baking soda
- 1.0 amount flour
Directions
- 1. Melt butter in potatoes, add scalded milk, cool.
- 2. Dissolve yeast in warm water.
- 3. Add yeast and other ingredients to make a stiff dough.
- 4. Let set 20 minutes.
- 5. Add more flour and knead 8-10 minutes.
- 6. Let rise until doubled.
- 7. Punch down and rest 10 minutes.
- 8. Form into small balls, flatten slightly.
- 9. Place on a greased cookie sheet.
- 10. Let rise until doubled.
- 11. Make indentations in centers, fill with fruit filling.
- 12. Bake at 400°F for 10 minutes.
