Ingredients

  • 1.0 cup butter
  • 1.0 cup hot mashed potatoes
  • 1.0 qt milk, scalded
  • 1.0 pkg yeast
  • 0.5 cup warm water
  • 2.0 cups sugar
  • 1.0 tsp salt
  • 1.0 tsp baking powder
  • 1.0 tsp baking soda
  • 1.0 amount flour

Directions

  • 1. Melt butter in potatoes, add scalded milk, cool.
  • 2. Dissolve yeast in warm water.
  • 3. Add yeast and other ingredients to make a stiff dough.
  • 4. Let set 20 minutes.
  • 5. Add more flour and knead 8-10 minutes.
  • 6. Let rise until doubled.
  • 7. Punch down and rest 10 minutes.
  • 8. Form into small balls, flatten slightly.
  • 9. Place on a greased cookie sheet.
  • 10. Let rise until doubled.
  • 11. Make indentations in centers, fill with fruit filling.
  • 12. Bake at 400°F for 10 minutes.
