Ingredients
- 1.0 cup scalded milk
- 0.5 cup lukewarm water
- 0.5 cup sweet cream
- 2.0 eggs
- 0.5 cup sugar
- 0.25 cup soft shortening
- 1.0 tsp salt
- 4.5 cups flour
- 2.0 cakes soft yeast
Directions
- 1. Soften yeast in water for 5 minutes.
- 2. Add to cooled milk and cream with other ingredients.
- 3. Knead until smooth.
- 4. Let rise until doubled.
- 5. Mix down and let rise again.
- 6. Shape into 2-inch balls.
- 7. Grease with butter and let rise 15 minutes.
- 8. Make dents in centers and fill with fruit filling.
- 9. Let rise again.
- 10. Brush with beaten egg.
- 11. Bake at 375°F for 15-20 minutes.
