Ingredients
- 6.0 large Bermuda or sweet onions
- 0.5 cup milk
- 1.0 egg, beaten
- 1.0 cup flour
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 1.0 tsp sugar
- 1.0 tbsp shortening
Directions
- 1. Peel onions and slice into 1/4” thick rings.
- 2. Soak in water for 30 minutes, drain, and dry.
- 3. Combine egg and milk.
- 4. Stir in flour, salt, and sugar to make batter.
- 5. Add shortening to batter.
- 6. Dip onion rings in batter.
- 7. Fry in deep fat at 365°F until lightly browned.
- 8. Drain on paper.
