Easter Lilies

Traditional Easter dessert

Ingredients

  • 3.0 egg yolks
  • 0.75 cup sugar
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3.0 egg whites
  • 0.75 cup cake flour
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 1.0 tsp baking powder
  • 3.0 oz cherry jello
  • 1.0 can fruit cocktail

Directions

  • 1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • 2. Beat egg yolks with 0.25 cup sugar and vanilla until thick.
  • 3. Beat egg whites with 0.5 cup sugar until stiff.
  • 4. Fold yolks into whites, then sift in flour, salt, and baking powder.
  • 5. Pour batter into 6 lilies on a greased sheet, spread thin.
  • 6. Bake 8 minutes, fold into lily shapes with toothpicks, cool in glasses.
  • 7. Mix jello with fruit cocktail juice, add fruit when set, chill.
  • 8. Fill lilies with jello mixture, top with whipped topping.
