Cream Puffs or Éclair in Pan

Ingredients

  • 1.0 cup water
  • 0.5 cup margarine
  • 4.0 eggs
  • 1.0 tbsp sugar
  • 1.0 cup flour
  • 4.0 tbsp margarine (for filling)
  • 4.0 cups milk (for filling)
  • 4.0 egg yolks, slightly beaten
  • 1.5 cups sugar (for filling)
  • 2.0 tsp vanilla (for filling)
  • 0.5 cup cornstarch (for filling)
  • 1.0 carton whipped topping

Directions

  • 1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  • 2. Boil water, sugar, and margarine, stir in flour until a ball forms.
  • 3. Add eggs one at a time, stirring until glossy.
  • 4. Spread in a 9x13 inch pan, bake 25 minutes, then cool.
  • 5. Melt margarine for filling, blend in cornstarch and sugar.
  • 6. Add milk, heat until boiling, stir in egg yolks, cook 2 minutes.
  • 7. Add vanilla, cool, pour over crust.
  • 8. Top with whipped topping and refrigerate.
