Slow-dried beef jerky

Ingredients

  • 3.0 lb top round steak, cut into very thin strips
  • 0.0 salt
  • 0.0 pepper
  • 0.0 liquid barbeque smoke

Directions

  • 1. Layer ½-inch thick beef strips in a crock, sprinkling each layer with salt, pepper, and liquid barbeque smoke.
  • 2. Repeat until all beef is used, then weight down and leave overnight.
  • 3. Drain and dry strips with paper towels.
  • 4. Place strips on an oven rack.
  • 5. Bake at 150°F for 4-11 hours, depending on desired dryness.
