
Canned apple pie filling

Ingredients
- 0.0 apples, peeled and sliced
- 4.5 cups sugar
- 1.0 cup cornstarch
- 2.0 tsp cinnamon
- 0.25 tsp nutmeg
- 1.0 tsp salt
- 10.0 cups water
- 3.0 tbsp lemon juice
Directions
- 1. Peel and slice apples, then fill quart jars tightly.
- 2. Cook sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and water until thick and bubbly.
- 3. Add lemon juice to syrup.
- 4. Cover apples with syrup in jars.
- 5. Process in a water bath for 20 minutes.
