Savory ham and beef loaf

Ingredients

  • 2.0 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 0.0 dash of cayenne pepper
  • 1.0 cup post bran or cornflakes, slightly crushed
  • 1.0 lb ham, finely ground
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 0.25 cup chopped onion
  • 0.75 tsp dry mustard
  • 1.0 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 lb raw ground beef
  • 0.5 cup chopped celery
  • 0.625 cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup vinegar
  • 0.5 tsp dry mustard (for glaze)

Directions

  • 1. Mix eggs, cayenne, milk, cornflakes, dry mustard, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • 2. Add ham, ground beef, onion, and celery.
  • 3. Form into a loaf and place in a greased 8x4-inch loaf pan.
  • 4. Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes, then drain grease.
  • 5. Mix brown sugar, vinegar, and dry mustard for glaze.
  • 6. Baste loaf with glaze and bake 15 minutes more.
  • 7. Drain grease before serving.
