Ingredients
- 2.0 cups sifted flour
- 2.0 tsp baking powder
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 0.5 cup shortening
- 0.666 cup milk
- 1.0 to taste sugar for sprinkling
- 1.0 amount pitted fruits
Directions
- 1. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt.
- 2. Cut in shortening.
- 3. Stir in milk until soft dough forms.
- 4. Knead lightly on a board.
- 5. Roll or press out to 1/8” thick, 5” square.
- 6. Place pitted fruits in center, sprinkle with sugar.
- 7. Moisten edges, press around fruit.
- 8. Drop in boiling water, boil until done.
- 9. Serve drizzled with hot fat or oil and sugar.
