Ingredients
- 1.0 cup sugar
- 1.0 cup shortening
- 5.0 tbsp liquid from boiled raisins
- 2.0 eggs
- 2.0 cups oatmeal
- 2.0 cups flour
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 1.0 tsp cinnamon
- 1.0 tsp nutmeg (optional)
- 1.0 tsp baking soda
- 1.0 cup cooked raisins
- 0.5 cup crushed walnuts
Directions
- 1. Boil raisins in 1.5 cups water for 12 minutes, cool, reserve 5 tbsp liquid.
- 2. Cream shortening and sugar.
- 3. Add eggs, beat until fluffy.
- 4. Fold in oatmeal, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda, and raisins.
- 5. Add flour alternately with reserved liquid.
- 6. Stir in walnuts.
- 7. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet.
- 8. Bake at 375°F for 10 minutes.
