Ingredients
- 4.0 cups sifted all-purpose flour
- 1.0 tsp baking powder
- 0.5 tsp baking soda
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 0.5 tsp nutmeg (optional)
- 1.0 cup soft butter or oleo
- 1.5 cups sugar
- 1.0 egg
- 0.5 cup cultured sour cream
- 1.0 tsp vanilla extract
Directions
- 1. Sift flour with baking powder, baking soda, salt, and nutmeg.
- 2. Beat butter, sugar, and egg until light and fluffy.
- 3. Beat in sour cream and vanilla until smooth.
- 4. Gradually add flour mixture, beating until combined.
- 5. Form dough into a ball, wrap, and refrigerate several hours.
- 6. Divide dough into 4 parts.
- 7. Roll one part at a time to 1/4” thick on a floured surface.
- 8. Cut out cookies with a cutter.
- 9. Place 2” apart on greased cookie sheets.
- 10. Bake at 375°F for 10-12 minutes.
- 11. Cool on a wire rack.
