White Texas Sheet Cake

Ingredients

  • 1.0 cup butter or margarine
  • 1.0 cup water
  • 2.0 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2.0 cups sugar
  • 2.0 eggs, beaten
  • 0.5 cup sour cream
  • 1.0 tsp almond extract
  • 1.0 tsp salt
  • 1.0 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 cup butter or margarine (frosting)
  • 0.25 cup milk (frosting)
  • 1.5 cups powdered sugar (frosting)
  • 0.5 tsp almond extract (frosting)
  • 1.0 cup chopped English walnuts (frosting)

Directions

  • 1. Boil butter and water.
  • 2. Remove from heat, stir in flour, sugar, eggs, sour cream, almond extract, salt, and baking soda until smooth.
  • 3. Pour into a greased 15x10x1” pan.
  • 4. Bake at 375°F for 20-22 minutes.
  • 5. Boil butter and milk for frosting.
  • 6. Add powdered sugar, almond extract, and walnuts, mix well.
  • 7. Spread over warm cake.
