Ingredients
- 0.5 cup lard or oleo
- 1.0 cup sugar
- 1.0 egg, beaten
- 1.0 tsp baking soda
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 1.0 cup flour
- 1.0 tsp cinnamon
- 1.0 tsp nutmeg
- 1.0 cup chopped nuts
- 2.25 cups raw apples
- 1.0 cup sugar (icing)
- 2.0 tsp flour (icing)
- 1.0 tsp butter (icing)
- 1.0 cup water (icing)
- 1.0 tsp vanilla (icing)
- 0.5 tsp nutmeg (icing)
- 0.5 tsp cinnamon (icing)
Directions
- 1. Cream lard and sugar, add egg.
- 2. Add dry ingredients, apples, and nuts.
- 3. Pour into an 8” square pan.
- 4. Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes.
- 5. Cook sugar, flour, butter, water, vanilla, nutmeg, and cinnamon for icing until thick.
- 6. Pour over hot cake.
