Ingredients
- 2.25 cups sifted Swans Down Cake Flour
- 1.0 tsp baking powder
- 1.0 tsp baking soda
- 0.75 tsp salt
- 0.75 tsp cinnamon
- 0.5 tsp cloves
- 1.0 cup granulated sugar
- 0.666 cup butter or margarine
- 0.666 cup brown sugar
- 1.0 cup sour milk or buttermilk
- 2.0 eggs
Directions
- 1. Sift flour, baking powder, soda, salt, spices, and granulated sugar.
- 2. Stir butter to soften.
- 3. Add dry ingredients, brown sugar, and milk, beat 2 minutes.
- 4. Add eggs, beat 1 minute.
- 5. Pour into two 9” pans lined with paper.
- 6. Bake at 375°F for 25-30 minutes.
